HEY PEOPLE…

            Here are the minutes from the meeting yesterday…in my own uneducated way.  We are continuing to work on all of this.  ALSO There is a place at the bottom for YOU to add some of your great wisdom and experience…..SO LOOK AT IT ALL…

 

Encounter Meeting Minutes   Sept. 20

 

EncounterFest2 Brainstorm:

·         We are looking to have the Fest on Oct. 23^rd

o   Brandon / Brian will try to meet with Boys & Girls Club asap to solidify date and details(size of group, etc.)

o   Brandon will go to the city to look into reserving park

o   Once we set date, we need to get moving on details because date is close

·         Discussed a DJ or music station a better option than live music

·         Check for power for lighting

·         Decorations…Encounter Easy-Up, balloons, …minor decorations

·         Games discussed:  dunk tank, volleyball, lollipop tree, football toss, craft table, hula-hoop contest, 3-legged race, basketball, etc…

·         Food: we will provide and bar-b-que hot dogs and burgers & drinks.  We will bring 3 bar-b-ques.  Again have cotton candy and snow cones.  Have kettle korn with smaller bags and have donations and proceeds go to B&G Club.

·         Look into getting a blow up, preferably a large slide

·         Have an information table for details on how to help the B&G Club

·         We need a PA of some kind

·         We can pass out our Frisbees at event.

·         Look into what is appealing for families involved with B&G

·         Let B&G distribute flyers as they usually do

·         We want to offer love and service to the families involved in B&G as well as those who work at B&G

·         B&G Club is in need of 2 men to mentor 9 & 11 year boys.  1 Hour a week.

 

Outside of EncounterFest2:

·      Out of the Darkness walk coming soon…Oct. 10   (Suicide Prevention)

o   Rhonda has details. 

·      Brandon to look into Ads on Facebook

ALSO…

            As we discussed on Friday night…it would be great to have weekly involvement with Encounter on this blog by YOU participating in commenting on weekly topics and questions.  Its up to you but it would be great.  Anything you add will be great !!!

 

SO HERE IT IS:®  Friday Night Brian taught about Luke 6:11-17.  We looked at the compassion of Jesus and how He was willing to touch others considered “unclean”.  We looked at what Jesus does out of His compassion and love for people.

 

            Question:  How has Jesus’ compassion impacted your life and are there things you can do differently to share Jesus love and compassion with others?   Please comment.
